From lenfun to warria: Transits and political proposals of Mapuche women in the press of La Araucania (1916-1968)
Abstract
This research has the objective of conceptually understanding the transits and political proposals of Mapuche women in their writings published in the press of La Araucania in the post-war period (1916-1968). All the above in the context of the postwar period after the Chilean colonial invasion of the Gulumapu territory. Content analysis is used to account for the predominant concepts and grouping codes in the set of journalistic articles present in the trade press and local press in the Araucania Region - Chile. The conclusions confirm the link between the journalistic support and the Mapuche movement, as well as how the concepts are crossed by the modern premises of progress, being education a transversal element wielded by the Mapuche writers, but despite this standard, it is possible to observe the resistance in the acute diagnosis of the consequences of territorial dispossession visible in the agony that Mapuche society presented at that time, as well as the affirmation of existence and identity as indigenous people and women.
