Abstract

Chile’s push to decarbonise its distribution grid under the PMGD scheme motivates a detailed appraisal of how small-scale photovoltaics affect feeder performance. This study investigates a 144 kW PV plant proposed for the 13.2 kV radial that serves the Chillán horticultural terminal. A composite procedure, implemented in DIgSILENT PowerFactory®, couples steady-state power-flow and short-circuit studies with transient fault simulation. Scenarios of maximum and minimum demand quantify voltage profile, conductor and transformer loading, technical losses, fault duties and relay coordination. The results show that the integration of the PMGD does not have a great impact on the system, due to its low power. © 2025 IEEE.
