Abstract
Currently, the use of fossil fuels has led to a significant i ncrease i n t he g lobal a verage t emperature, resulting in serious environmental consequences. In response to this issue, the use of renewable energy sources has been widely explored, with solar and wind energy standing out. In Chile, green hydrogen is also considered a key future energy vector. However, its production and utilization require power converters. These converters typically generate a triangular-shaped current ripple that can negatively impact both fuel cells and electrolyzers due to the chemical reactions involved and the sensitivity of the materials used in their construction, which are particularly affected by high-frequency ripples. In this context, the present article proposes a power converter with zero current ripple at both its input and output, aiming to prevent premature degradation of fuel cells and electrolyzers in green hydrogen applications. © 2025 IEEE.
