Abstract

Hanninem's DNAse method for Campylobacter biotyping was evaluated. From the 105 strains studied, 68 (64.8%) were DNAse positive by this method, appearing 6 as false DNAse negative by Lior's reference method. Hanninem's method was more sensitive (100%) than Lior's method (91,2%) to detect DNA hydrolisis activity but both showed 100% specificity.
