Abstract
The Plenary Session of the 1999 IEEE PES Summer Meeting focused on Reliability in the New Market Structure. The topics discussed include: transmission structure issues; reliability and generation adequacy; reliability in Latin America's new market structure; reliability and the market place; legal responsibility for reliability in the new competitive electricity markets in Canada; and WSCC reliability management system.
