Biologically-based face recognition using gabor filters and log-polar images

Abstract

A face recognition system that uses Log-Polar Images and Gabor Filters is here proposed. This system models the way in which face images are processed between the retina and the areas V1 and V2 of our visual system. Some simulations of the recognition abilities of the system are also presented.
