Compactification in first order gravity

Abstract

In this work is reobtained the Kaluza Klein formalism in first order gravity. This makes explicit the existence torsion in the four dimensional physical spacetime. In addition it is discussed the role of scalar fields which make possible this construction. © 2008 IOP Publishing Ltd.
