Abstract
There is certainty of the many benefits of social support on subjective wellbeing of people. However, we see less evidence on the effect of different sources of emotional support, such as family relations and friendship on subjective wellbeing. 566 adults aged 18 to 65 years old participated in the study, which evaluated the influence of different sources of emotional support on subjective wellbeing. The best predictive model showed that relationships with parents and siblings, couples, friends and marital status predict wellbeing. Relationship with children showed no statistical significance as a predictor. The importance of the possible effects of the different dimensions of social support on subjective wellbeing is discussed.
