Twelve taxa of chondrichthyan fossils from strata assigned to the Upper Pliocene of the Horcon Formation, Valparaiso region, central Chile, are described and prior records paleobiogeography and paleoenvironmental implications are discussed. The fauna includes Callorhinchus sp., Heterodontus sp., Carcharodon carcharias, Isurus oxyrinchus, Galeorhinus galeus, Carcharhinus brachyurus, Hexanchus griseus, Squatina sp., Pristiophozus sp., Rajidae, Dasyatidae and Myliobatidae.
