Abstract

In the context of the knowledge society the relationship between knowledge management and academic management, within the institutions of higher education, is analyzed and discussed. To this end we work with a sample of 45 executives of Chilean universities and perform a multiple linear regression analysis to assess the impact of knowledge management, understood as creating, applying and sharing knowledge, on teaching, graduate activities and research. The results show a significant relationship (p<0.001) between knowledge management and academic management of Chilean universities.
