Abstract

Some concepts and approaches concerning colonial rock art, usually utilized by specialist, are discussed in order to questioning some consequences resulting to their employee. The paper presents new materials of Toro Muerto site (localizing in IV Region of Chile, La Higuera County). These materials may be included in a large zone (between Cuzco region in South Peru until Chilean Central zone and High Lands of Bolivia and Argentine) with similar expressions of colonial rock art. The similarities between some significants (churches, crosses, horse riders, hats, for example) are emphasized as hypothesis.
