Abstract
The aim of this study is to understand the masculinity subjectivation processes of young men in northern Chile. It seeks, therefore, to know how young men between 15 to 19 years old live their masculinities in an androcentric, patriarchal and heterosexist cultural scene. The research is qualitative and the methodological model used is body maps. This model is a biographical approach, it use intertextual analysis to account the embodied dimension of gender socialization. The most relevant findings showed the injury based on personal traits such as skin tone and body weight, as a manifestation of violence. These features relate with characteristics of group membership and socioeconomic level, causing a social and symbolic order in inter-gender relationships.
