Circulating current control scheme for double-star winding induction motor drive based, ship propulsion system
Abstract
Induction machines with double-star stator winding configuration, has extend the redundancy capability of the FEP based ship propulsion systems. However, under winding faulty conditions, the presence of negative sequence torque components introduce torque pulsations which are responsible for the torsional vibration stress. The classical Field Oriented Control (FOC) scheme approach, has a PI controller performance, because of the oscillating components, due to the development of negative sequence current components. On this matter, several approaches have been proposed, based on an alternative rotation matrix, which is dependant on the nature of the fault. In order to deal with this uncertainty, the present work presents a new approach, with the implementation of sliding current controllers in the synchronous reference frame.
