Abstract

The purpose of this work is to analyze the political dimension in the field of health and its approaches from qualitative research. The proliferation of qualitative research from different disciplines of the social and health sciences, evidence the value of these studies to inquire social phenomena considering the social and cultural characteristics of the health, disease and care processes. We consider to be relevant to discuss over the nature of qualitative research, without neglecting the political dimension of the academic-collaborative exercise, thus avoiding studies oriented only to the cultural dimension of a romantic-understandable nature, excluding the political, economic-productive processes of the territory. This article contributes to the debate in that direction.
