Magnetic behavior of small magnetic particles
Abstract
The magnetism of nanosized three-dimensional clusters of ferromagnetic atoms is studied as a function of temperature. Numerical simulations are used to investigate the evolution of the magnetic structure within the clusters along different thermalization processes. The occurrence of vortexlike excitations is observed when the system is cooled from a high-energy configuration. For a wide range of temperature T, the relaxation time of the cluster is found to scale with 1/Tn, with n= 1.55±0.05.
