In the study of accelerated social changes in Latin America, this article is about the need to situate the relevance of the concept of political culture as a potential axis that guides and revitalizes debates about political phenomena in the region. The objective is to determine the characteristics defining continental political culture in order to establish the features that explain the communicational meaning of political socialization as a symbolic dimension that permits broadening the perspectives of analysis
