Stability of subshifts in cellular automata

Abstract

The relations between several concepts of stability based on topological and measure-theoretical concepts in the Cantro and Besicovitch topological spaces are shown. These concepts eludicate the behavior of cellular automata in which successively larger and larger regions are homogenized. The subshift of homogeneous configurations behaves as an attractor, since the frequency defects steadily decrease.
