The influence of domain geometry in boundary blow-up elliptic problems

Abstract

The influence of domain geometry in the boundary blow-ups of semilinear elliptic equations having power nonlinearity was discussed. Power nonlinearity was incorporated as equations of the type f(u)=up. The explosion rate was found to be higher at the point where the domain was more curved towards the exterior. A lower-order term depending linearly on the mean curvature of the boundary was found for cases when 1<p<3.
