Abstract

The present invention discloses a method for obtaining a specific population of umbilical cord mesenchymal cells. A composition containing said population of specific cells is useful for preparing a medicinal product that can be used in cell therapy, such as cardiac ejection flow problems in patients with a reduced ejection fraction. Moreover, said sub-population is useful for preparing a medicinal product that can be used to relieve pain and restore function in cases of joint wear; to treat respiratory problems, such as lung damage, acute lung injuries, such as acute respiratory distress syndrome, and to treat skin lesions, such as chronic wounds and ulcers.
