Abstract

We present new CCD photometry of the Small Magellanic Cloud star cluster Lindsay 1 in UBVI filters. It is the first photometry in U and I filters. We determine the reddening E(B - V) = 0.014. Using a variety of metallicity indicators in the optical and the infrared regions we determine a cluster metallicity [Fe/H]CG97 = -1.05 ?± 0.14 and [M/H] = -0.83 ± 0.14. We find that Lindsay 1 has an age of 9-10 Gyr.
