Human rights and Globalization. Can transnational corporations be considered subjects of Interntional Law?

Abstract

Today we increasingly face the phenomena of the menace of human rights by bussiness. At least the 50% of the countries of the world have a GDP that is lower than the income of the biggest multinational corporations in the world.¿ Do this States have enough power to guarantee by themselves on the background of their domestic laws the respect of human rights with such actors? As a response to this crisis some domestic jurisdiction has had some vertiginous advances in this matter. Is in the United States of America where the most spectacular advances in this issue ahve been achieved. Therefore this essay concerns whether or not transnational corporations schould be subject to international law, and therefore, be obliged to respect the different instruments of Human Rights as well as explore the posssibility of submit them to international jurisdiction.
