TCICA mediated synthesis of Spirooxindole by Oxidative Rearrangement of Tetrahydro-β-carbolines: Total synthesis of Coerulescine, Elacomine and Horsfiline

Abstract
An efficient protocol has been developed for the synthesis of spirooxindoles via oxidative rearrangement pathway by using TCICA as mild oxidizing reagent. Also, utilized this protocol for total synthesis of natural spirooxindoles Coerulescine, Elacomine and Horsfiline with excellent yields (up to 95%).
