Abstract

An easy and versatile general method for the preparation of the new peptide bond surrogate PSI[CH(CN)NH], by the Lewis acid catalyzed reaction of N-protected alpha-amino aldehydes with a C-protected amino acid or peptide in the presence of TMSCN, is described.
