Seguridad del Paciente y Cultura de Seguridad
Abstract
Patient Safety (PS), or the conscious attempt to avoid patient injury caused by attendance. Is an essential component of the quality of care and the precondition for the performance of any clinical activity.Only recently in the light of objective data, patient safety has begun to be considered a paramount issue in health practice. The fundamentals of health care security are based on two related lines of thought: 1. The Reason Error Theory, and 2. The safety culture (SC). The safety culture is defined as the set of values and norms common to individuals within the same organization and implies a shared mental model that positions security as a common goal to pursue. This article explores the definitions, processes and strategies aimed at reducing the probability of occurrence of system failures and errors of people and increase the probability of detecting them when they occur and mitigating their consequences.
