Abstract

The importance that the ancestors would have had on the pre-Hispanic community of San Lorenzo, Azapa Valley, North of Chile, is dicussed. To that end, different types of funeral contextsfound burials found in the settlement of San Lorenzo (Az-11) in the cemetery Az-75 and Az-76 were analyzed. The compared data of some representative tombs were related to models of building, dimensions, location and interaction in the space.
