Abstract

Universities as highly complex organizations require a series of considerations for their administration and precisely the competences of their administrators is one of the central elements. The aim of the work is to characterize the managers of these Chilean institutions, based on their professional training and postgraduate studies. It is a documentary research that uses secondary sources of information (essentially articles published in indexed journals and websites of universities). The most relevant results indicate a predominance of formation of pre and post degree associated to the area of the social sciences.
