Abstract

The main objective of this research is to compile and present the most relevant data that characterize the Chilean university system. It is a case study, based on a documentary analysis that uses secondary sources of information. With this information, it is possible to understand the operation and the most relevant transformations that the university system has undergone in the last 30 years, which made possible the massive entry of the private sector into the academic offer.
