Abstract
The Smoothened (SMO) receptor is an important component of the Hedgehog signaling pathway, which play a critical role regulating embryonic development and adult tissue homeostasis and may be aberrantly active in a wide variety of human cancers . Inhibition of SMO, through small molecules antagonist represents a promising approach toward novel anticancer therapy. Due that, our group is interested in the development of new ligands of SMO endowed with higher ability to inhibit the tumor growth.
