Abstract

Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs)-based materials have attracted great interest and have been applied in various sensor and electrocatalytic applications due to their excellent physicochemical properties. The synthesis method and materials used greatly improve the fascinating properties of MOFs. In this interest, we have overviewed the fabrication of various MOF-based composites with carbon materials, metal and metal oxide nanoparticles, polymer composites and biocomposites. Recent developments in MOF-based composites as an electrode material for electrochemical sensors with improved sensitivity, selectivity, stability and reliability is discussed in detail in this chapter.
