Abstract

This article aims to establish an approach to the teaching of Castilian in the early formative stages, reviewing the general conceptions of education in colonial Spain and its application in the American viceroyalties, with special attention to the Peruvian. More specifically, we seek to lay the foundations for a first approach to the castellanization of indigenous peoples in the colonial Andes.
