Women's profiles and models in twentieth-century magazines in Chile: the case of Rosita magazine
Abstract
This research aims to know the profiles/models of women in magazine-type female magazines, in the Chilean magazine Rosita. We applied the Content Analysis technique to the advice sections of the journal, considering three milestones in the history of Chilean women: Creation of CEMA, Birth Control Plan and the creation of JUNJI. This has been the case since the 1960s and early 1970s, in the 20th century. The results show the presence of different profiles of women, which correspond to those of other international women's magazines of the time. In addition, the dominant profiles within which the high presence of traditional profiles stands out are visualized.
