Abstract

Ectopic pancreatic tissue or heterotopic pancreas is a congenital or acquired anomaly in which there is pancreatic tissue not connected to the main gland. It has an uncertain prevalence since it is generally an incidental finding and is located mainly in the upper gastrointestinal tract. We present the case of a 51-year-old woman with jejunal ectopic pancreas with associated inflammatory changes, studied with computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, and subsequent histopathological confirmation.
