Diaz Herrera, Claudio; Pino Villalon, Jose L.; Lopez Espinoza, Miguel A.

Abstract

Measuring cultural capital is long-standing, but it is complex to measure it in its internalized form due to its symbolic nature. The article aims to validate a questionnaire that validly measure this type of capital. Non-experimental, descriptive-transverse study. With a sample of 283 students from a university in the Maule region (Chile). A questionnaire with a Likert type scale of 16 items was built. Its elaboration constituted an evaluation of expert judgement and factorial analysis. The KMO measure was 0.725, with a test of sphericity p 0.001. The results give account of five dimensions that represented a variance of 58.14% and an internal consistency of a = 0,696. Is concluded a valid instrument in your factorial structure and reliable to measure interiorized cultural capital.
