Abstract
In this work we present an inventory of the diversity of Chrysomelidae in the area comprised between La Campana (32°S) and Nahuelbuta (38°S) National Park. The distribution patterns of the species were analyzed through historical biogeography methods. A parsimony analysis of endemicity identified two areas characterized by different assemblages: i) froM 32° to 34° S and II) from 37° to 38°S. These areas coincide with previously defined biogeographic regions, based on floristic and faunistica analyses, i.e., central Chile (including two biogeographic sub-units) and the Valdivian Rainforest. The ditstribution patterns of leaf beetles are consistente with the patterns of the flora and other faunistic elements and are interpreted as a consequence of climatic changes occurred in the area during the Quaternary period. Finally the presence of local endemisms in La Campana National Park
