Finite Control Set MPC for Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Asymmetric Multiport Converter

Abstract

This article presents the finite control set model predictive control of a cross-connected half-bridge inverter for a single-phase grid-connected LCL-type filtered photovoltaic system. The FCS-MPC controls the full-state of the filter adopting a multiobjective control approach, ensuring a controlled exchange of power between the inverter and the power grid with low current harmonic distortion. The contribution of this paper is to generate the internal system references, by using power references and the mathematical system model. In addition, the multiple notch filter approach is revisited to set effectively the inverter switching frequency and its side bands. Finally, simulation results are presented to verify the performance of the converter and its control scheme.
