Robotics applied to classroom in Primary Education: a case in the Spanish context
Abstract
Innovating in the school stage, especially in Primary Education (PE), is essential to promote educational change at an early age. It is at this time that promoting teaching in areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics is essential to motivate students in school learning. Considering the current paradigm of STEM education, an experience is presented in a PE classroom with students from 10 to 12 years old, where elements of robotics, programming (Scratch) and computational thinking are included with the aim of articulating the learning of STEM disciplines. A series of activities are carried out in an environment of permanent inquiry, in which a voluntary group of students attend 15 workshop sessions after school. An evaluation of the program is carried out by a satisfaction survey, observing a positive evaluation of educational activities and the inclusion of technological elements.
