Python software to monitor NCRE generation systems

Abstract

Renewable energy use has been increased to reduce the environmental impact of fossil fuel-based generation. Monitoring these systems is important to detect anomalies and to determine its performance. Monitoring includes measurement, data management and visualization. This work describes a software platform to extract data from an existent energy analyser by Modbus TCP/IP protocol and saves them in a MySQL database. The platform provides a multiplatform access in a server-client structure. Client devices connected in the local network can visualize data graph by using a web navigator. The platform was built using Python open-source libraries.
