Abstract

This article addresses the problem of digital and information literacy, relating it to the relevance of electronic governance and the impact it has on the elderly. For this, a qualitative-descriptive approach was used to analyze the data on the impact of the program. As an instrument of analysis, the notion and method of personal agency was chosen, which gives priority to freedom, the fulfillment of goals and the development of transcendent personal values for the individual. Among the main results obtained, the achievements made by older people in self-efficacy, self-determination, control of their behavior, recognition of their learning and empowerment stand out. Among the main conclusions, it is highlighted that through a program focused on the elderly, the digital gap is reduced, highlighting the importance of autonomy and independence with respect to their environment, self-learning and learning by doing, as fundamental skills for today's society.
