THE CO-CONSTRUCTION OF SONGS AS A TESTIMONY OF STORIES OF PSYCHOTHERAPEUTIC CHANGE

Abstract

This paper gives a theoretical and practical foundation about the use and construction of songs in the last period of the psychotherapy process. It's thought that songs co-constructed can be a type of testimony of therapeutic stories of change. Therefore, the first part of this paper shows the epistemological assumptions of the proposal and some backgrounds about music and therapy. The second part presents three psychotherapeutic experiences to exemplify the proposal. Also, It is realized a content analysis of the experience of patients with its songs. The analysis shows that songs are associated with positive emotions, It has a function and different audiences. Finally, some reflexions are realized about innovation, power use and epistemology in psychotherapy.
