Abstract

During the last quarter of the XIX Century Pomepii and Herculaneum become a symbol of prestige and refinement for the Spanish American Society. In the interest for these sites was reflected in the testimony of travellers, the acquisition of Pompeian objects (or the imitation of these) and the adoption of the Pompeiian atrium in the lobbies of the most important palaces.
