Abstract

This article considers the nostalgic upgrade of the bolero in relation to the creation of a retro-utopian community, which gives an account of the capitalist transformation of time into merchandise. This is done through the consideration of the Chilean group La Flor del Recuerdo that takes up the songs of the musical genre. After a contextualization of the bolero and its mutability over time, a set of songs performed by that group will be analyzed, in order to conclude on the effect of retro-utopia at the time of capitalist contamination.
