Abstract

This paper presents the results of the analysis and individual characterization of the bioanthropological remains corresponding to an archaeological rescue carried out in 2019 at the La Cordonada sector, Coyhaique, Aysén Region, Chile. This study includes macroscopic observations and a bioanthropological characterization of a female individual between 30-35 years of biological age. In addition, a radiocarbon chronological estimate of 390 cal years BP and the existence of a diversified d iet b y m eans of s table i sotopes of t he individual were specified. These results are discussed in relation to other previously described bioarchaeological samples in the region and of similar chronology, as well as the possibility of being of a different type of burial other than the chenque type, commonly described for Patagonia. © (2023), (Universidad de Magallanes).
