Abstract

The purpose of this research study is to examine statistically significant differences in social responsibilities among university students from Ecuador. A self-report instrument is applied to a non-probabilistic convenience sample of 261 Ecuadorian university students. An exploratory factor analysis (EFA) is applied. Descriptive statistics and central tendency measures are calculated. Statistically significant differences are examined according to sociodemographic characteristics. The results show that there are differences in mean according to sex, location, permanence, dedication, and volunteering. Therefore, Ecuadorian universities must generate instances that promote social responsibility by considering student characteristics and the needs of the population according to the singularities of each location. It is concluded that it is necessary for universities to be able to design strategies of university social responsibility that respond to the demands of a more demanding, informed, and globalized society. © (2024), (Centro de Informacion Tecnologica).
