Abstract
The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of an intervention based on Paralympic sports on the attitudes towards the inclusion of students with disabilities in Physical Education classes, as well as to know the students' opinion about these sports. A quasi-experimental design was carried out in which 58 high school students aged 16-17 years participated distributed in a control group (n=34) and an experimental group (n=24). The intervention consisted of a program based on goalball and boccia with a duration of 8 weeks. To measure attitudes towards disability, the Attitudes towards the Inclusion of Students with Disabilities (AISDPE) questionnaire proposed by Reina et al. (2016) was obtained and additionally in the experimental group the questionnaire proposed by Robles-Rodríguez et al. (2017) was used. The results indicate that the experimental group showed an improvement in attitudes towards disability, although only with significant differences in the behavioral dimension. Likewise, the students considered positively the promotion of values such as participation and awareness that are promoted through these sports. In conclusion, Paralympic sport is a fundamental tool to achieve a change in attitudes towards disability at all ages and to promote value aspects, participation and awareness. © Copyright: Federación Española de Asociaciones de Docentes de Educación Física (FEADEF).
