De Sitter brane-world solution in 5-dimensional Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity

Abstract

To describe a late stage in the evolution of the universe, we consider a low energy density dust-filled 4-dimensional brane, immersed in a 5-dimensional space-time. Assuming that cosmological dynamics is governed by the Einstein-Gauss-Bonnet gravity field equations, we find a solution that exhibits an accelerated exponential behavior, which corresponds to a De Sitter model of universe.
