Level of preparation of Physical Education teachers in the face of school violence: a study in initial teacher training

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the preparation of physical education teachers in the face of school violence. This study responds to the quantitative, non-experimental, transversal and exploratory methodology, through which data were collected to know the impression of future teachers by means of an online questionnaire through the Google Forms tool. The participants were 70 fifth-year Physical Education Pedagogy students in their professional practicum. The most relevant results emphasize that 57.1% corresponding to 39 of the total respondents, did not receive guidance, workshops and/or resources related to school violence during their teacher training. It is concluded that it is essential that the training itinerary takes into account the concept of school violence for initial teacher
