Abstract

Research that considers spiritual intelligence in higher education has left room for exploration in Latin America. The objective of this study was to analyze spiritual intelligence through self-knowledge, considering the spiritual needs and practices of university students. The sample consisted of 362 university students from Chile. An exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was performed, and subsequently, PLS-SEM was applied. Regarding the results, the scale is structured as follows: Self-knowledge, Spiritual needs, and Spiritual practices. In addition, it was found that Self-knowledge influences Spiritual needs and Spiritual practices. Finally, it is essential that universities implement strategies for the development of spiritual intelligence focused on training in values such as empathy, dignity, and solidarity, through the search for peace and a sense of transcendence.
