Abstract

Since the publication of the Agile Manifesto at the beginning of the2000s, the influence of agile methods in the scientific literature of softwaredevelopment and the industry has grown in a considerable manner. Consideringthe importance of these approaches in software engineering, the purpose of thiswork is to provide a bibliometric analysis of the publications on agile methodsin Web of Science since the beginning of the millennium. In order toaccomplish this, several analyses are performed on the co-citation networks ofdocuments and keyword. In particular, this article provides a list of emergingtopics and trends using burst analysis and a list of relevant works in the field ofagile software development. These results provide a high-level overview of themain topics in current agile software development research
