Abstract

A juvenile specimen of Nexilosus latifrons was recorded in Punta de Choros, extending its known distribution range 442 km south of the last documented occurrence. Factors such as larval dispersal, the influence of the Humboldt Current, and the location of the area within an ecological transition zone may explain this presence. These elements suggest that this is not an isolated event but rather part of a complex biogeographic dynamic. Further research is needed to assess the stability and long-term establishment of these populations.
