Sagredo P.M.; Araya, AD; Sandoval F.H.

Abstract

This paper presents and analyzes the representational practices of singing and dancing in the Andean parties between 16(th) and 17(th) centuries. We analyze in depth the Quechua and Aymara indigenous voice `taqui', as a term that incorporates in itself the singing and dancing. Also, through linguistic and ethno-historical perspectives we try to understand the traditions, representations and re-semantizations of the taqui in the Andean world until today.
